How does leadership affect the ethical environment within an organization? What role do you think the personal morals of a CEO plays in the handling of an organization’s ethical problems?

A leadership with positive morals and values will affect the ethical environment in an organization in a positive way and vice versa. It is important that employees with these good morals and values be promoted above those without because the company will go further. If leaders without these good morals and values are promoted, a company tends to slowly fall apart.

When a person becomes a CEO of a company, they are intrusted with the entire company. A lot of CEO’s are in the position that they are in because they developed the company from the ground up and have encompassed their own ethical standards. When CEO’s focus on ethical behavior, it means that there is currently a problem and their focus generally will have a very positive effect. CEO’s have more to do than concentrate their time on ethics. They have a business to run and while ethics do play a part, CEO’s do not focus their time and energy on it.
