Question 1: Think of a present/past work environment you have been in and then assess organizational behavior practices you observed that fostered the effect of positive change(s) within the organization. A past work environment where I observed organizational behavior practices that fostered the effect of positive change within the organization would include when I worked for a third-party health care processor in their communications department. This company implemented several ways of listening to employees’ needs and concerns but there was one way in particular that seemed to be successful: implementing an employee hotline for complaints. Having an outlet to anonymously complain regarding any and all issues served to be cathartic for many employees who otherwise just needed to vent. Some of the complainants simply wanted a record of, for example, a coworker consistently swiping their lunch out of the break-room refrigerator. Another organizational behavior practice that I observed at this organization was communication through employee wide meetings. Upper management seemed to attempt to make the meetings fun as well as informational, including refreshments and a follow-up question and answer session.
