The two (2) most important concepts which I have learned in this course are 1) the growing importance of social media on marketing, and 2) how the use of SWOT analysis helps marketers to discover marketing strategic frameworks. There are varieties of social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, which, when employed helps marketers and advertisers to facilitate word of mouth (WOM) amongst friends, fans, and even detractors about their products and services. Thus, in my future African Continental Restaurant business in New York City, I will use social media concepts to create awareness of our unique services to our target customers, as well as to afford me the opportunity to talk to millions of customers, send out messages, and get fast feedbacks with small ad budgets. Thus, with the concept of SWOT analysis, I will be able to arrive at a marketing plan strategy for the restaurant by first assessing our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as represented by the 5Cs, to arrive at our STP and the 4Ps’ goals.
