Decision making is a process that requires individuals to make choices based on alternative options. Logical decisions makers exclude emotions and chose options based on rational methods. Using logic to make decisions allows managers to identify tangible outcomes. Logical thinkers understand emotions vary and accurate decisions are made based on facts. Appling logic to the decision making process will allow the decision maker to chose rational alternatives. Logical decision making allows managers to analyze, interpret and evaluate information needed to make decisions.

            Emotional decision maker’s chose alternatives based on various feelings or personal values. Emotional bias distorts the decisions makers’ cognitive process.  Personal desires and fears can interfere with a person’s ability to make rational decisions. Allowing feelings to interfere with manager’s decision making process can skew a manager’s judgment. Manager’s can make better choices by developing a process that formulates results.  To remain effective in the decision making process managers must focus on pertinent information. Allowing emotions to constitute managers choices can create confusion, disorder and unfairness in the work environment.
