  1. 1.     What are mass media?

Mass media is defined as media that targets large audiences. There are many forms that mass media can take. For example it can take the shape of broadcast media such as television and radio, it can take the shape of print media such as the newspaper, it can take the shape of web presence using the technology of internet. Mass media is also called the mainstream media by some people because it tends to bring to public stories that can be of interest to the general audience. Mass media is a huge industry globally and many people use it for news and entertainment around the globe. The aim of mass media is to normally target a large market for instance a whole sate or even a whole country. Local media on the other hand brings to the audience only news that relates to a certain group or region of that country. (Conjecture Corporation)
