     1. How can you use the concepts presented in the article to manage the change resistors in your own life as you pursue your education?

Resistance is defined as "employee behavior that seeks to challenge, disrupt, or invert prevailing assumptions, discourses, and power relations.” Sometime this changes involves a new boss, new team, new policy, or new technology.

They are multiples reason why people resist to a change. My motivations are salary, benefits, environment, etc.

In my opinion change is good, we need change otherwise we wouldn’t be thinking beings.  I believe there are multiples reason why employees resist to a change, including the fear to be replaced or maybe fear to not be able to perform like their managers want them to. In order to prepare a contingency strategy you can get support from the CEO if you work, or if its study you can get support from your family members, you can create an incentive program, you can get help from the vendor if this is the case or in the case of someone not working you can set your goals, why you want to do it, what needs to be done and how are you going to accomplish it. It is important that a manager anticipates, and plans strategies for dealing with resistance. The role of a manager is to work towards reducing the resistance towards change, and increasing the enthusiasm and level of commitment for the change.

     2. Do you think this is a hero’s journey?

My hero is my mother. She has been my inspiration. She had me and had to leave her studies to continue working. After working for a while she saw she wouldnt be able to make the desired amount of money if she didnt finish school then she went for her Bachelor’s. This past November she graduated with an MBA from UOP adding a new degree and skills to her resume. She has taught me that I am a hero myself, I had my daughter at 16 years old, continued studying and working, 10 months ago had my son and now I am doing my MBA. I believe there is no journey without a hero and there is no hero without a story and that story is mine.

     3. What are the sources of your commitment to life-long learning.

I commit myself to continue studying. After I finish my MBA I dont want to leave it there, I would like to periodically sign up for courses on new technology, six sigma, group relations and much more. I believe the more you learn the more you become an asset for your company and the more you grow intellectually.
