1.     What leadership elements in different positions support or hinder the change effort in the Gene One scenario?

First of all this company wants to become public and the problem here is that not every member is in accordance and agreement with management. The Gene One leadership believes that the cumulative effect of these moves will translate into an annual growth rate of 40 percent if they are implemented within three years time. The most important leadership element is team building / work and communication.

2.       What factors of the business you researched do you think could be implemented in Gene One to make its change effort more successful?

Gene One has had unparalleled success in the biotech industry. Innovative strategies and ever evolving research initiatives have propelled Gene One into a lucrative business. The leadership of Gene One has opted to explore the positive suggestions of their profit margins concerning growth potential in order to protect themselves from being victimized by their success, as success always breeds duplication that can threaten a company's market share variables. According to what I read the future will look good if they explore the cost cutting strategy of a modular expansion through the south. Gene One also has an innovative strategy that is geared towards streamlining their budget while simultaneously diversifying their operations.

3.       After analyzing Gene One’s future options, answer the following question: As an organizational leader, do you think its current organizational structure and leadership style are appropriate to its going public? Why or why not?

In regard to the leadership, I strongly believeGene One has a lack of communication and leadership are major problems in the weakest departments. The more successful departments already have established leadership styles and communication is up to an acceptable standard. Using a change effort that aligns with the intended organizational goals and creates a culture that contributes to them, will help the leaders of the company in their effort to make the necessary changes and sustain them once they are implemented. Gene One in order to stay competitive in the business they must encourage teamwork, employee input in decision-making, and use creativity not only in the weak departments but in the strong departments as well. Empowering teams to make decisions in their area of expertise will be extremely helpful and may even give the company a competitive advantage. Creating a culture that is flexible and responds well to change takes careful evaluation of behavioral parameters and organizational processes. Gene One need to create and sustain some changes and this required careful evaluation and application of change processes and organizational behaviors that will not only make the company a more cohesive organization with the ability to adapt to change, but an organization that can sustain it as well.
