Assessed Question #1: Select a product with which you are familiar or interested in. Be sure the product has not been mentioned by other students. What are its product liability issues? What measures may management take to prevent these issues from arising? How may they minimize legal risk?

Being a housewife I struggle with my daughter’s clothing because she loves to play with dirt. One product I am interested in is Clorox. This product is a bleacher that is often used to help keep it clean, before it was used for white clothe now they have it for color clothes as well. It helps preserve the quality and neatness s of the garment as new. I often use it to clean my floor since I have a dog it helps sanitize the tiles getting off any germs that may be left. Some of the liabilities this product has are the harm it may cause if injured, if it get in your eyes, you smell it for a long time, you use on furniture, damage to the environment, etc. Management may help reduce legal risks and prevent these issues from arising by making the product labels clear to customers, explaining the harms it may cause if using it wrongly, etc. With the environmental problem Clorox company needs to find natural products and components in order to reinvent their product into a greener approach in order to preserve the environment, avoid any legal issues such as EPA regulations and be safer.

Assessed Question #2: How do government regulatory agencies and laws affect organizations? Choose one or two specific regulatory requirements and explain what effect they have on organizations. How do they differ domestically and internationally?

First I think governments enact laws and regulations to assist organizations, to give specific instructions and to make sure these organizations comply with environmental considerations, to establish controls, avoid fraud, space, enforce social responsibility, etc.  One of the regulations that I like to talk about it’s the Environment Protection Agency also known as the EPA. This regulation is in charge of the environment and makes sure companies comply with it maintaining our water, air, etc. clean, for example when a refinery like in the Gulf case in PR last week. EPA is investigating and making sure that Gulf was complying with them not throwing gasoline to the sea, not burning chemicals, report spills etc.   Another regulation that I like is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration also known as OSHA.  This regulation enforces safety and reaches out for employees rights at the workplace.  Also oversees the health and safety of employees providing seminars and safety signs etc.  The difference domestically and internationally may be the requirements in terms of how they enforce their laws or how far or to what extent these regulations are enforced in those countries.
