Post your 100 to 150 word response to this question: What effect do you think religious pluralism and the interfaith movement will have on the future of organized religion? Explain your answer.

I think religious pluralism and interfaith movements will have a good effect, not just on organized religion but also on society, as far as helping to limit the problem of fundamentalism and the quest for religious dominance. For many organized religious groups, it’s not about helping people gain personal spiritual empowerment but blind and swift indoctrination and total dependency on THEIR way, often touted as “GOD’S WAY”.

If a religion’s or philosophy’s ultimate goal is that the whole world must accept it as absolute truth, no action is too inconsiderate, inhumane or desperate, from noise pollution on a Sunday morning to mass cover-ups of child molestation to suicide bombing. However, nobody knows God’s mind except God. The only thing we can do is have faith. For some faith alone is not sufficient, questions arise, and they cannot be answered, people tend to disbelieve. That is why people change from Christian to Muslim or Hindu or pagan or perhaps join different sect within the same general religion and vise versa. Interfaith interaction helps to foster this kind of spiritual humility. It encourages critical thinking, helps find common ground, and helps people separate their subjective beliefs from universal respect for human rights and freedoms, thus making it possible for them to live peaceably with all people

As stated in the text no religion dominates the world. New religions and new versions of older religions continue to develop and divide, subdivide, and provoke reform movements. Religions are practiced far from their country of origin. This being said new religions would probably fit in with the world because constantly new ones are being brought up and the word being spread.

Interfaith dialogue is the willingness to meet, explore their differences, and appreciate and find enrichment in each other's ways to the divine. This may be hard for upcoming religions because it is difficult for some religions to allow themselves to accept other forms of worship, as equal. Many religions believe their way is the only and correct way.  If a completely new religion is brought about, others may have a difficult time accepting them and their views. I also read in the text that in Britain, they have banned all new religions from forming. Everyone is equal, and we all have the right to choose how we worship, whether it is not to worship at all, or find a new way to worship. Religion is it is bound to change over time.
