When designing marketing materials, each has to be unique for the program that it is being designed for. They have to meet the targeted audience demands. For example designing a marketing material for a social program such as STD prevention, has to focus on people with STD; and if marketing for an elective such as plastic surgery, the focus would have to be on the population that needs plastic reconstruction. Also an important aspect of designing the proper material is to do enough marketing research to determine the attributes that are important to the consumer (Berkowitz, 2006).
