Check Your Still Life Work
Follow this step to check your still life work.
1. Make sure your still life has a glass and a decanter. If not, follow the Lesson 5 steps,
make sure your still2 still life meets the goals below, and then save your work.
_____ The glass has a bowl, a stem, and a base. (5.0 pts)
_____ The decanter is narrower at the top, and wider at the bottom. (3.0 pts)
_____ The decanter’s base is rounded. (3.0 pts)
Zip & Submit Your Files
Complete these steps to compress (zip) your fi les so they’ll be easier to submit to your
instructor.
1. Click the Start menu, and then click My Computer.
2. Double-click Local Disk (C:).
3. Double-click the art1 folder.
4. Double-click section_2.
5. Click the File menu, click New, then click Folder, type assignment_2a_ and your
full name, and then press the ENTER key. TIP: For example, if your name is Kelly
Marshall, the folder name will look like this: assignment_2a_kellymarshall
6. If you didn’t type the name right on the fi rst try, then right-click the folder, click Rename,
type the name, and then press ENTER.
7. Click the still2.svg fi le to select it.
8. Press and hold the CTRL key while you click the lines2.svg fi le.
9. Press and hold the CTRL key while you click the curves.svg fi le.
10. Press and hold the CTRL key while you click the styles.svg fi le.
11. Press and hold the CTRL key while you click the calligraphy.svg fi le.
12. Make sure the following fi les are selected:
still2.svg
lines2.svg
curves.svg
styles.svg
calligraphy.svg

13. Click the Edit menu, and then click Copy.
14. Right-click the assignment_2a folder, and then click Paste. A copy of your fi les has now
been pasted inside the assignment_2a folder.
15. Right-click the assignment_2a folder, then click 7-Zip, and then click Add to archive.
TIP: If you don’t have 7-Zip installed on your computer, you can use the steps in the
Course Overview to install it. If you want to use your own fi le compression software to
create a zip fi le of this folder, do so now, and then skip to step 18.
16. In the Add to Archive dialog box, click the Archive format drop-down list, and then click
Zip.
17. In the Add to Archive dialog box, click OK.
18. A compressed (zipped) version of the assignment_2a folder will appear in the same
location as the original folder. It will have the same name as the original, but with a .zip
fi le extension.
19. Submit your compressed assignment_2a folder to your instructor. TIP: Ask your
instructor if you’re not sure how to submit your assignment.
