Critical thinking and ethics both tie into the decision making and problem solving process. Critical thinking skills allow us to analyze a problem thoroughly in order to determine the best answer or outcome. Ethics allow us to differentiate between right and wrong by applying our personal beliefs and morals, which also leads us to choose the best answer or outcome in a given situation. Without both of these components the decision making process would be a disaster. Both of these components help individuals make the right choices on a daily basis. The critical thinking process acts as the “logical” point of view while ethics acts as the “emotional” point of view in relation to our decision making process. When we apply both of these aspects to our decision making process it creates and equal balance between logic and emotion.
