How do you find the answers to questions (research) using your computer? Provide an example.

When it comes to finding answers and information in terms of research I prefer to use the University Library as much as possible.  I feel that the University Library is the most likely source to provide credible information and up to date answers.  Another resource that I usually find quite helpful is MSN Encarta, which is an online encyclopedia.

Once in a while I will turn to typical internet search engines (Google, Bing etc.), but I try not to use them that often due to the lack of credibility in some of the sources provided by these search engines.  If I do happen to use a search engine to find information I make sure that all references are sited and that the information is up to date.  I also compare the information that I find with various other sources to make sure that the information is accurate before using it in my research.

Other websites that I may use include Web MD, Mayo Clinic, or other health websites depending on the nature of the research that I am conducting.  Another good option is to use online news websites to look up articles pertaining to your research.  Popular newspapers, such as The New York Times, have online sites which offer a wide range of articles and information.  I know that my local newspaper also has an online website that allows you to search articles by topic, which is a useful tool in conducting online research.
