Performing an assessment is the process a teacher does to gather different information as well as results to monitor a student’s progress throughout the school year.  Teachers then use the information to make professional decisions regarding their instruction in the classroom. 

Different types of tests are used to measure students’ mastery levels and comprehension of different concepts.
