Explain how activities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing support language development.
There are many activities that support language development in all the four essential skills in the English. However, each skill has its own purpose. For example, when teachers give students a writing task, what is the main goal of that writing? Is it for the students to practice writing for an academic essay, a personal journal, or some other kind of writing. Having students write will show ELLs how the structures of the language are formed.
