How does understanding how memory works impact instructional strategies?
“Much of the business of teaching has to do with giving learners something to remember” (Lefrancois, 2011, Part IV para. 1). I know from my own learning experiences that if the information is not interesting; I will not retain nor internalize that information. Therefore, in my classes I always make sure that my lessons are personalized for those students. In my beginning of the school term I give my learners a form to fill about their learning pretences and topics they enjoy discussing. While I am teaching, I ensure that I use those topics to make the lessons more interesting.
