To me, the email that Owen wrote seemed rushed. He used incomplete thoughts that would have been discovered if he proof read before sending the email. I believe that it is important to read your work aloud because you are more likely to catch more of the mistakes this way than reading it silently. Some of Owens writing could have offended somebody it is important to word things in a nicer manner. I also noticed that much of the writing was not punctuated properly which could lead to people not understanding. Below is some corrections of the way I believed this email should have been written. The original is in yellow and my writing is in red.

Owen's writing with corrections,

"I don’t have a lot of time to explain but off the top of my head answer is as a reader critical thinking affects me all ways. Not just reading but  writing too. Change to: I believe that critical thinking always affects me when reading and writing.Sometimes what I read I must write about later like this discussion question so clearly I have to read. Clear writing is the hardest thing in the world." Change to: There are times when after reading for class I must write about it in a discussion question. It is important to read for class because I have to incorporate My reading into my discussion questions and other assignments. I believe that clear writing is difficult to overcome but with effort I hope to accomplish being able to be clearer in my responses.

"Though I don’t, the average writer has to write business rapports reports which can build report rapport and be interpersonal with the audience. In critical writing, writers construct sentences with clear intentions."

"Businesspeople write fast because the business people I know are always in a hurry." are in a hurry so when writing it is important to be clear even though the writing is fast.

"Business reading is reports, memos and articles. When reading in business it mainly consists of reports, memos, and articles. My aunt is a university professor and she writes articles for journals. She is smart and a better writer than my uncle who is a businessman. So critical writers are better than business writers. But critical writing like argumentative essays have structure, so business writing has structure too. It’s not a matter of one kind of writing being harder than the other it’s that the structure is harder." Just because of his aunt being a better writer than his uncle he should not say that all critical writers are better than business writers. Instead he could say that my aunt is good at writing articles and my uncle is a good writer when it comes to business. Both my Aunt and Uncle are strong in there own fields. These two different styles of writing vary but they both are built with structure. I believe that the structure is harder in critical writing than in business.

Thanks,

Owen
