Request Description

When I worked at my former employer there were these machines that I would rebuild every five years. While I was rebuilding the machine I would have to provide a report  on each and every part that I would have to replace. The report was a chart that had every part listed on it and I would have to describe the condition of the part and if it could have lasted longer or not. I would also have to provide the time it took for installation of each part. After I was finished with the rebuild I would hand in my report to my department manager. I believe the report was good for the type of job because when the information is charted compared to all the other rebuilds over the years it allows you to be more accurate on when a specific part needs to be replaced. I believe a technical writer must decide what a report is for and what will best suit the report. For example if a technical writer was showing company earnings over period of 10 years compared th the previous ten years, he or she could have a write up about it and provide a bar graph to allow the audience to have a clearer understanding. By using a graph it is much easier to process the information
