What kind of things might influence and educate corporations over time? After all, if an unethical corporation can still make tons of profits and return huge gains for their shareholders, what is the incentive for making changes? I've often had the feeling that much of the employee training on "ethics" might simply just be a "CYA" method for PR purposes due to the inevitable nature of bad press or even lawsuits. Do the big stores like Wal-Mart have a duty to the public to keep prices as low as possible during these tough economic times? If the labor standards and pay are improved for workers in other countries, or we see more and more of the products being made in the U.S., our prices will ultimately rise. Would it be ethical to the stockholders of the company if the company reduced its profit margins just to keep the prices low for us? (100 word)

It has been seen that employees perform better when an ethical culture prevails in an organization. This means that employees will perform better regardless of the department they are in. Greater efficiency in production department will cause greater production, greater efficiency in marketing department will cause more sales, greater efficiency in accountancy department will cause lesser misstatements and hence decreased cost of audits.
