Employees' performance has been established to be directly related to employees' motivation. Employees the motivating factors that can 'adequately' motivate them to work tirelessly and to achieve results.  Also employees can be adequately motivated and are best suited to determine what can collectively motivate them. Motivation is the catalyst that spurns employees' eagerness to work without pressure. To motivate is to provide employees with a motive to do some tasks. It is to cause or provoke somebody to act either positively or negatively. Motivating employees begins with recognizing that to do their best work, people must be in an environment that meets their basic emotional drives to acquire, bond, comprehend, and defend. Nothing motivates better than working in a cohesive team and being seen as part of a success story. Workers are motivated when they are getting results, otherwise, they feel depressed and weak. Other motivating factors are secondary. Managers should be aware that their job is to plan, organize, control, supervise and direct a motivated employees to achieve objectives.

Managers can successfully motivate their employees through empathy, leading by example, management by objectives (MBO), fairness to all, rewards, awards and recognition for long-service and good work, opportunity for employees' training and development, periodical promotion and increase in take-home pay, welfare package like employees' children scholarship, free medical services for employees and their families, recognition of birthdays of employees, the creation of a sense of belonging among all employees, regular feedback from employees, effective communication in the project environment and assurance of employees future within and without the organization, providing a conducive and attractive working environment for the employees, and instituting conflict resolution management.

 

If we think about what employees seek today, in summary all employees seek 401K plans, health insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, discounts and more.
