NOTE: Before doing this assignment, you should read the Microsoft Office 2013 text beginning on page 373 and continue as necessary to page 415. You will not need to read all of this material to do this assignment but you should familiarize yourself with Excel as it is a powerful software package capable of doing a multitude of formula driven applications such as budgets, sales analysis, etc.

Organize the following information below into a Microsoft 2013 Excel worksheet. Calculate the Total Monthly Sales for January and calculate the Total Monthly Sales for February for the “Foster’s Comfort Chairs Corporation”. (Note: State abbreviations; CA = California, AZ = Arizona, NJ= New Jersey, NY = New York, TX = Texas)

a)      Sales Rep, John Brown had sales of \$14,000 in January and \$22,000 in February in CA. The budget for January is \$15,500 and February is \$20,000. Show the variance for each month and a total year to date for both the total budget and the accumulated sales to date.

b)      Sales Rep, Mary Shaw had sales of \$19,125 in January and \$15,467 in February in AZ. The budget for January is \$24,500 and February is \$18,000. Show the variance for each month and a total year to date for both the total budget and the accumulated sales to date.

c)      Sales Rep, Thomas Blue had sales of \$17,892 in January and \$15,000 in February in NJ. The budget for January is \$17,000 and February is \$13,750. Show the variance for each month and a total year to date for both the total budget and the accumulated sales to date.

d)     Sales Rep, Faye Hunter had sales of \$30,112 in January and \$45,123 in February in NY. The budget for January is \$35,000 and February is \$45,000. Show the variance for each month and a total year to date for both the total budget and the accumulated sales to date.

e)      Sales Rep, Keith Black had sales of \$15,000 in January and \$12,475 in February in TX. The budget for January is \$14,000 and February is \$11,000. Show the variance for each month and a total year to date for both the total budget and the accumulated sales to date.

Additional Directions:

-       Totals: Monthly Sales should be calculated using the SUM Formula. (Example: =SUM(B2:B4))

-       Include a Label for each column in your worksheet.

-       Include Labels that give the company name and the title of the worksheet. Pick your own company name.

-       Include a name for the worksheet sheet. For example, SalesBudget.
