Request Description

1.   Think about the lecture covering the beginning of the colonies to the Revolution to the Civil War to the civil rights movement, what sort of progress do you believe America has made?  Religious freedom? Civil equality?  Is the struggle over?

2. What were the reasons for the Civil War? Does it really matter? Why were some states allowed to continue slavery?  What do you think about people who discriminate based on race, creed, or religion?  What types of social relationships come after the war?

3. In what ways have various wars changed American cultural and social structures?

You do not have to answer all the questions but must convey a degree of understanding about the issues America has faced in the past, present and possibly the future
