Johnny thinks that the entire justification for Insider Trading laws is undermined by the fact that the Justice Department and the U.S. attorneys responsible for their enforcement sometimes choose to prosecute, sometimes choose not to prosecute, and sometimes choose to cut a deal in exchange for information. According to Johnny, the only certain factor is that if you are a white male with a lot of money to hire a good lawyer you will get off without serving a day . . . unless, of course, the prosecutor in his or her discretion chooses to make an example of you.
